Masqr is designed with privacy as the absolute top priority. This app allows you to redact and blur sensitive information in screenshots, and it does so entirely on your device. This policy explains our commitment to your privacy.
None. Masqr collects NO personal data whatsoever.
100% On-Device Processing: All image processing, redaction, and blurring happens locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's built-in image processing frameworks. Your screenshots never leave your device.
No Network Access: Masqr does not make any network calls except for StoreKit (Apple's in-app purchase framework). When you export a redacted image, it is saved directly to your Photos library without any cloud transmission.
No Accounts Required: You do not need to create an account or log in. There is no authentication system.
Apple StoreKit: This is the only external service Masqr interacts with, and only for processing in-app purchases or unlocking premium features. Apple processes payment information according to their privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
No Other Services: Masqr does not use:
Local Only: Any app preferences (like your preferred blur intensity) are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.
No Cloud Backup: Since Masqr stores no sensitive data, there is nothing to back up to iCloud or any other cloud service.
Security: Your images are processed in your device's secure memory space and are immediately discarded after you save or discard the edited version.
Since we collect no data about you, there is no data to request, delete, or modify. You have complete control over your images at all times.
Masqr is safe for users of all ages, including children under 13, because we collect no personal information whatsoever. Parents can confidently allow their children to use Masqr without privacy concerns.
Masqr works identically everywhere in the world. Since all processing happens on your device, there are no international data transfer concerns.
We do not display ads. We do not track you. We do not sell data (because we don't collect any).
Photo Library Access: Masqr requests access to your photo library only when you choose to import a screenshot to edit or save an edited image. iOS manages this permission, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings. We only access the specific photos you choose to import.
No Other Permissions: Masqr does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, or any other device features.
Since Masqr's privacy model is fundamentally built on collecting no data, this policy is unlikely to change. If it does, we will post updates here with an updated date.
We are considering open-sourcing Masqr to provide full transparency about how it works. If you're interested in reviewing the code, contact us for updates.
