ParallelLives
Effective Date: April 13, 2026 · Last updated: April 13, 2026
Summary (not a substitute for the full policy): ParallelLives is designed around data minimization. We do not require accounts, do not track you across apps or websites, do not sell your data, and most data stays on your device. When optional features use artificial intelligence, a minimal payload is sent to our service provider to generate a response. Full details below.
ParallelLives (the "App") is published by Dino Bozic, operating as a sole trader under the name "dinz" (the "Developer," "we," "us," or "our"), a natural person residing and registered in the Republic of Croatia. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, the Developer is the data controller for the limited personal data described in this policy. To contact the data controller, email dinz@dinzzz.com.
This policy applies exclusively to the ParallelLives iOS application distributed through the Apple App Store and to any websites we operate that explicitly reference it. It does not apply to third-party services (including the Apple App Store, Apple's in-app purchase system, or any external links) whose privacy practices are governed by their own policies. If there is any inconsistency between this policy and Apple's App Store terms with respect to data Apple controls, Apple's terms prevail for that data.
During profile setup and normal use, you may voluntarily enter the following information, which is stored only on your device in Apple's local storage (UserDefaults and/or on-device database), unless an optional cloud-sync feature is explicitly enabled by you in a future release:
You are not required to provide real identifying information. You may use a pseudonym. The App does not verify the accuracy of anything you provide, and the Developer is not responsible for consequences arising from information you choose to submit.
As you use the App, it creates data locally, including:
All of the above is stored locally on your device. We do not receive a copy on our servers. Deleting or reinstalling the App permanently erases this data.
To deliver specific features, limited data may be transmitted from your device to third-party processors acting on our behalf or under their own responsibility. The following table is exhaustive as of the effective date of this policy:
Apple processes your App Store account and in-app purchase information in order to deliver the App and process transactions. We receive only anonymized purchase receipts and subscription status via StoreKit; we do not receive your Apple ID, email, or payment instrument. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
When AI-generated content is enabled (for example, to generate a unique alternate life beyond the built-in library), the App sends a small structured prompt to our server endpoint at api.dinzstudio.com, which relays the prompt to a large-language-model provider (currently OpenAI, L.L.C.). The prompt includes only the seed data you entered (for example, first name or nickname, age range, career selection) and parameters needed to shape the response. It does not include your Apple ID, device identifiers, precise location, contacts, photos, or any data other than what is necessary to produce the requested generation. Our server does not persistently store prompts or responses beyond transient operational logs used to prevent abuse and stabilize the service. OpenAI processes content under its API Data Usage Policies; as of the effective date, API content is not used to train OpenAI's models. If this feature is disabled or unavailable in your region, no data is transmitted for this purpose.
If enabled, the App may use Apple's built-in crash reporting or a third-party provider (such as Firebase Crashlytics) to capture anonymized crash traces that help us fix defects. Crash payloads contain device model, OS version, anonymized device identifier (reset-able by you in iOS Settings), and a stack trace. They do not contain your collection or profile inputs. You may disable analytics sharing at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
We do not collect, and will never knowingly collect without a clear and separate opt-in:
We do not sell, rent, lease, license, or otherwise disclose personal information to data brokers or advertising networks under any circumstances. We do not engage in "targeted advertising" or in the "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases (Article 6(1) GDPR):
We use the limited information described above solely to:
We do not use your data to build user profiles for advertising, to infer sensitive characteristics, to make consequential automated decisions about you, or to train AI models.
Content generated by artificial intelligence is probabilistic and fictional. Outputs do not reflect real people, real events, or factual claims. Occasional outputs may be unexpected, imperfect, or in poor taste despite our safety filtering. We expressly disclaim any warranty regarding the accuracy, appropriateness, or reliability of AI-generated content. Do not submit confidential information, trade secrets, or personal data about identifiable third parties in any free-text field that is sent to an AI provider.
By using AI features, you acknowledge that (a) your prompts are transmitted to an AI model provider as described in Section 5, (b) the provider may retain prompts briefly for abuse monitoring, and (c) AI outputs are provided to you on an "as is" basis with no warranty.
Purchases and subscriptions (including "Portal Credits" and the "Infinite Pass") are processed exclusively by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive your payment card information. We receive a signed StoreKit receipt that confirms the transaction and, for subscriptions, the current status (active, in grace period, expired). Subscription management (including cancellation and refund requests) is handled in your Apple ID settings; see support.apple.com/HT202039. Consumable purchases (for example, credit packs) are generally non-refundable once consumed; refund requests are subject to Apple's discretion under its published policies.
At launch, the App ships without third-party advertising or behavioral analytics. We may enable optional, aggregated, privacy-preserving analytics or crash reporting in a future release. Any such change will be disclosed in this policy before activation. You will always be able to decline diagnostics sharing through iOS system settings.
On-device data persists until you delete the App or reset it. Prompts transmitted to AI providers are transient and are not persistently stored on our servers. Aggregated, non-identifying telemetry (for example, counters) may be retained indefinitely. StoreKit receipt metadata (transaction IDs, product IDs, purchase timestamps) is retained for tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes for the statutory period required under Croatian and EU law (typically up to eleven (11) years for accounting records).
To delete locally stored data, delete the App or use the "Reset All Data" option in Settings. For any data you believe we hold, contact dinz@dinzzz.com and we will confirm within thirty (30) days.
The Developer is located in the Republic of Croatia (EU). When AI features are used, prompts may be transmitted to servers operated by our model provider, which may be located in the United States or other countries. Such transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. By using AI features you acknowledge that data may be processed outside the European Economic Area.
We implement technical and organizational measures appropriate to the limited nature of the data we handle, including TLS transport encryption for any network communication, Apple's on-device data protection, and access controls on our server infrastructure. No method of electronic transmission or storage is perfectly secure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we cannot and do not guarantee the absolute security of any data.
If you are located in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights with respect to personal data we process about you, subject to applicable exceptions:
Because we store most data only on your device, you can typically exercise access, rectification, and erasure rights directly within the App. To exercise rights that require our involvement, contact dinz@dinzzz.com. We will respond within one (1) month, extendable by two (2) additional months where necessary.
If you are a California resident, you have the rights granted by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, "CCPA/CPRA"), subject to exceptions:
To exercise these rights, email dinz@dinzzz.com. We will verify your request by asking you to confirm information you previously provided in the App. Categories of personal information collected in the last twelve (12) months are those listed in Sections 3 through 5 of this policy. Sources, business purposes, and recipients are also described there. We have not disclosed personal information for "business purposes" (as defined by CCPA) other than to the third parties listed in Section 5.
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), Iowa, Oregon, Texas (TDPSA), Tennessee, Montana, Indiana, Florida (FDBR), Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, and others — have rights broadly similar to those described in Sections 15 and 16. Contact dinz@dinzzz.com to exercise any applicable right.
The App is rated 12+ in the Apple App Store due to infrequent/mild simulated gambling (gacha mechanics) and is not directed to children under thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where the GDPR applies with a higher age of consent set by a member state). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to the App, please contact dinz@dinzzz.com and we will delete it. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors' use of the App and in-app purchases.
Because we do not engage in cross-context behavioral tracking, "Do Not Track" (DNT) and "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) browser signals have no effect on the App. We treat all users as if they had sent a universal opt-out signal.
The App itself does not use cookies. Websites we operate that explicitly reference the App use only strictly-necessary cookies or none at all, and do not deploy tracking pixels, third-party advertising cookies, or similar technologies.
The App may link to third-party services (for example, Apple's App Store, developer blog, or policy pages). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of third-party services. Your interactions with third parties are governed by their own policies.
The App uses procedural logic (gacha rarity, pity counters, fate cards) that is automated but does not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you within the meaning of GDPR Article 22. We do not perform profiling of users for consequential decisions.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the App, applicable law, or our practices. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. If changes are material (for example, introducing a new category of data collection or a new processor), we will provide a reasonable notice through the App or this page before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
